Would you like to help shape new design code for Uttlesford?
Uttlesford District Council has been successful in its funding bid to produce a district-wide design code. It will be produced over the next few months and be a planning document used by local people, planning officers and developers in the preparation and assessment of planning applications for new development.
The aim will be to improve the design quality of new developments in the district. The council will run workshops – including online, in-person and walking tours – so local people can help to shape the code.
This introductory video explains the project in more detail.
The first stage will be a survey to understand what local people like and dislike about the buildings, places and landscapes in Uttlesford, and which parts they feel are really distinctive to the district.
To inform this process, the council is hosting three walking tours that are an opportunity to get out and about to look, think and discuss before completing the survey:

Thursday, August 18, 6pm-8pm, Great Dunmow. Book here

Sunday, August 21, 10am-midday12pm, Stansted Mountfitchet. Book here

Sunday, August 21, 2pm-4pm, Saffron Walden. Book here

The tours will follow accessible routes with regular resting points. There are 15 places on each walking tour, so book your space now!
