Essex Way: back where it all began (and ended)

The story of the Essex Way has been well charted during the year on this website, our competition being particularly special for those at CPRE Essex.
The highlights emanating from that competition have been many, but this from Katie Miller has a striking poignancy…
“Here are three photographs of my mother, Helen Clothier, honorary secretary and later trustee of CPRE Essex during the 1980s and ’90s, standing by the High Lighthouse in Harwich.
“She and Patricia Herrmann, then chairman of CPRE Essex, were responsible for arranging the making and placing of the plaque on the High Lighthouse to mark the north-eastern end of the Essex Way.”
