Lower Thames Crossing: our response

Coming our way soon? The Lower Thames Crossing is scheduled to be completed in 2027

One of the most exacting challenges of recent months has been the looming prospect of the Lower Thames Crossing, a project that has been billed as this country’s biggest new-road scheme since the building of the M25.
Its environmental benefits are, of course, dubious at best. The new road would take up a large chunk of Green Belt in Thurrock, while the government’s apparent lack of interest in alternative forms of transport is little short of staggering.
CPRE Essex has given its response to the consultation, which you can read by clicking on this link: CPRE Essex LTC.
Beyond that, it just remains for us to wish you all a very happy Christmas and New Year.
The past year has seen CPRE Essex strengthen its social-media presence and relaunch this website; next year we aim to push on further and hope you will join us… in every sense.
Here’s to the future!
