Make a date for Plough Sunday service at Thaxted

We like to be ahead of the game at CPRE Essex, so here’s advance warning of a special event early next year…
Plough Sunday is the traditional English celebration of the start of the agricultural year – it generally involves the bringing of a ploughshare (cutting blade) into a church, where there will be prayers for the blessing of the land.
One such event will be at Thaxted Parish Church on Sunday, January 16, at 11am, when Thaxted Morris Men will be joining the service “to support all those who work with the land”.
It should be quite a morning!
