Our Lovely Essex: Gordon Ridgewell, a man of film in more ways than one

Photographer Gordon Ridgewell has been one of the most enthusiastic contributors to Our Lovely Essex. He’s 85 years young, but Gordon is not going to let modern trends leave him behind.
“With a half-hour to spare, I did a selfie the old-fashioned way. I put one of my Nikons on a tripod and, after remembering how to set it up, got the remote-control in my hand and did a bit of posing.”
And just a snippet of interest Gordon is happy to share: “When I was in the RAF at Scampton in 1953-54 I was in the Dam Busters film with Richard Todd. It was a very small part, driving a truck in the background of a few shots.”
A film star is among us…
