Consultation on plans for a new “high-quality business park” at Basildon ends on Sunday (August 29).
St. Modwen Logistics says its plans for land east of Burnt Mills industrial estate will create “over 2,000 jobs for local people, which could be worth approximately £50 million to Basildon’s economy”, while “delivering multi-million pound funding and contributions for local infrastructure”.
The site targeted by St. Modwen lies south of the A127 and would be reached via a new link road running through it and between the A127 and Pound Lane.
The company says the 118-acre site has been identified for employment development in the draft Basildon Local Plan, adding it is in the early stages of preparing a planning application that it aims to submit this to Basildon Council this year.
