Tribute to a great British hero captured for posterity by Gordon’s lens

Who could forget the efforts of Captain Sir Tom Moore, the British Army veteran who raised almost £33 million for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 lengths of his garden before his 100th birthday?
He also performed in a cover version of You’ll Never Walk Alone, sung by Michael Ball, with the proceeds destined for the same charity. That particular venture made ‘Captain Tom’ the oldest person to reach No 1 in the charts!
And last month, our own Gordon Ridgewell got a sight of the train named after the great man as the Class 66 locomotive 66731 Capt. Tom Moore [A True British Inspiration] passed his Littlebury home.
Gordon told us: “It was trailing empty trucks taking spoil from the HS2 line into the old Barrington cement works. Spoil from Crossrail was also dumped there.”
Good to see Gordon keeping us all up to speed with our rapidly changing world!
