Uttlesford’s draft Local Plan can go through to the final round of public consultation.
Members of the district council have agreed that the submission documents (the Plan and its supporting documents), having been informed by responses to the previous consultation, can now go through to the last phase.
It opened yesterday (Friday, August 8) and will close on October 3.
The focus will now be on the Plan’s legal compliance and its ‘soundness’, which determines whether it meets the requirements laid out in national policy, guidance and legislation. This round of consultation will include explanatory information.
Responses, together with the Plan and supporting documents, will be submitted to the Secretary of State this year for examination.
Paper copies of the publication version of the Uttlesford Local Plan will be available at local libraries and the district council’s London Road offices. Parish councils will also be given copies and a briefing to be able to help members of the public.
If you want more information about the consultation and how to take part, you can call in to a one of several drop-in events, where you can ask the policy team about the Plan. The team will also help with submitting a representation.
