George Daniels was Britain’s greatest watchmaker in 200 years, his career culminating in the invention of an entirely new frictionless movement… much to the annoyance of the giant Swiss watch industry.
It’s a fascinating story and you can hear it at the Dedham Vale Society’s Winter Lecture, to be held at the end of this month.
All in Good Time: The Life and Times of George Daniels starts at 8pm on Monday, November 30.
Details for joining the ‘virtual’ lecture will be on the society’s website dedhamvalesociety.org.uk after Friday, November 20; there will also be a link from the CPRE Essex website.
