We are delighted to announce that one of the county’s leading wildlife experts, Dr Andrew Impey, will be giving this winter’s CPRE Essex talk.
After the resounding success of our series of talks over the last two winters, we have decided to do things a little differently this year, with just the one presentation.
Dr Impey, chief executive of Essex Wildlife Trust, grew up in our county, which is where his interest in the natural world was ignited.
A stellar career in conservation followed, taking him across the UK and indeed the world. Specialising in habitat and species management, research projects in Norway, Sweden and the Indian Ocean were standouts, as was his role as the RSPB’s head of global habitats, during which he led on rainforest protection in Indonesia and East Africa and peatland restoration in eastern Europe.
Happily for us in this special county, however, in 2015 Dr Impey came back home to take the helm at Essex Wildlife Trust.
And even more happily, he will be giving his free talk via Zoom on Wednesday, February 22, at 6.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to join the free event, which will last about an hour and include time for questions.

  • If you would like to join us for Dr Impey’s talk, please email office@cpre-essex.org.ukand we will send you Zoom log-on details in due course
  • If you are unfamiliar with Zoom, again please email office@cpre-essex.org.ukand we will do our best to help set you up
