Essex Way photographic competition: the winners revealed!

Anne Franks took top spot in the 18+ section with this stunning image

The winners in our Essex Way photographic competition were revealed at our AGM on Saturday (October 1) and it was a pleasure that some of them were able to join us on a delightful afternoon at Coggeshall’s Grange Barn.
As you doubtless know by now, the competition was launched in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Essex Way – the 81-mile walk from Epping to Harwich that CPRE Essex played a big part in bringing about.
After a slow start, the competition really gathered pace and proved a genuine success for all involved.
It is an undeniable cliché but nevertheless true to say that the judging was difficult – the standard of many entries was high and there will always be an element of subjectivity when deciding on the winners.
To those who contributed, however you fared, we thank you for taking part and it would be lovely to see you involved with CPRE Essex again in some way – at the very least, we hope you have learned a little more about us.
Given the imbalance in the ages of those entering, with almost all falling in the 18+ section, we reassigned the prizes so there were also four ‘commended’ prizes of £10 in that section, with fewer in the younger brackets.
The winners of the three sections are shown here. The commended entries will be shown in due course on separate website posts, as indeed will all entries. We know you will be impressed.
