Jingle but don’t mingle at drive-in carol service

Goodness, have we ever been more in need of a good carol service!
It has of course been one of the toughest years our country has endured in recent times – and for too many there has been tragedy.
There is the hope of brighter times ahead, but we have, at the very least, a potentially difficult winter to get through.
So let’s clear our throats, puff out our chests and sing!
Peculiar times call for peculiar approaches and so this month we can enjoy the Essex Farmers’ Drive-in Carol Service.
Organised by the Farming Community Network and Rev Canon Janet Nicholls, it is being held at Chelmsford City Racecourse, Great Leighs CM3 1QP, on Sunday, December 13, at 2.30pm.
Booking is essential. Admission is free but everyone must book tickets in advance via Eventbrite here
Janet has stressed that the impact of the Covid-19 restrictions continues to concern her, especially regarding rural isolation and loneliness. She hopes that an afternoon of Jingling without the Mingling will lift spirits! Guest singer Nancy May will be performing and Bishop Roger Morris will lead with a Christmas message.
Please spread word of this service far and wide as we all look to dispel the gloom. Thank you!
