This year’s AGM (on October 5!) can be just part of a great day out at Cressing Temple Barns

Cressing Barns... a fairy-tale venue right here in Essex!

You’re invited! A message from our chairman…

Enjoy tea at The Barns, Cressing Temple

Nothing quite like it! Cressing Temple Barns is hosting the AGM of CPRE Essex

Monday, September 16, 2019

Here’s another reminder that this year’s Annual General Meeting of CPRE Essex is coming up quickly!
It is being held at the fantastic venue of Cressing Temple Barns, near Braintree, on Saturday, October 5.
The guest speaker will be Simon Amstutz, manager of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Essex, Vincent Thompson, will also be attending.
Simon’s AONB team is the only one in the country to work across two nationally designated landscapes.
While the AGM doesn’t start until 3pm, do bear in mind that the venue itself opens at 10.30am, so you can really make a day of it. And a day that includes tea provided by Wilkins tea room!
Cressing Temple has an extraordinary history dating back to the 1100s, when it was given to the Knights Templar, and is home to three Grade I-listed barns as well as Tudor-built Walled Gardens.
The barley and wheat barns were built in the 13th century; they were described subsequently by historian Michael Haag as “the two finest Templar-built barns in Europe”. The granary barn was built in the 16th century and is the largest granary in Essex.
Such is the beauty of Cressing Temple Barns that the site has developed into one of the most popular wedding locations in Essex… recommendations can surely come no finer! We can’t wait to see you there…

Address: Cressing Temple Barns, Witham Road, Braintree, CM77 8PD.

Date and time: Saturday, October 5 (2.45pm for 3pm)
